What is Disabled VAT Relief?
VAT relief means disabled and chronically ill people are exempt from paying VAT on items purchased. This means they pay 0% VAT and therefore save money.
Who is eligible for VAT relief?
To be eligible for VAT relief the government state you have to fit the following criteria:
Charities: Simply provide your charity number.
A person is ‘chronically sick or disabled’ if he/she is a person:
- With a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out everyday activities; with a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes; or
- Who is terminally ill.
Important Note: It does NOT include a frail elderly person who is otherwise able-bodied or any person who is only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb.

I've had a few walking sticks, and this is by far the best. Being just 4'11" in height, it's been difficult to find a stick that's short enough for me, but my Flexifoot is the perfect length on the second shortest setting. For those who need a longer stick, there are nine adjustment positions in total, so the Flexifoot could also suit the taller-than-average user. The flexible ferrule itself really does act as an effective shock absorber, which for someone like me who's had shoulder issues is hugely important. It also provides excellent traction on all surfaces, which together with the solid build of the stick makes it reassuringly stable. Finally, the soft grip handle is comfortable to hold and never slippery, even when your hands are wet. I'd definitely recommend the Flexyfoot Premium Derby Handle Walking Stick.
